Spiritual Direction gives us the opportunity to look within, and to look deeply. Looking within can be difficult. Let alone the challenge it is to truly become aware of God's doing in, around and through us. Our collective objective is to establish a place in which we can stop hiding, we can stop running and rather choose to be found. A place that is just you and God. Walking in a field, a garden, a meadow, or on a canoe in the middle of a lake with an early morning fog coming off the water as you are gliding across the water. A space established to listen. To delight. To sit. To wonder. To rest. To grieve. To breathe. To heal. What does it look like to take delight in God taking delight in you? To accept yourself as fully understood and fully loved? And finally to live your life from this reality? For some the imagery of Adam, Eve and God in the Garden may provide a sort of parallel experience to what Spiritual Direction aims to be. We welcome whatever chooses to reveal itself in love. We name and set aside our worries and fears and approach these places together. We set out in order to satisfy the craving of walking out child like innocence with God in the garden.
